Superstar Saga takes Mario and Luigi to the Beanbean Kingdom, where Cackletta has stolen Princess Peach’s voice in order to awaken a wish-granting Beanstar. High jinks ensue as the brothers try to restore peace to the Kingdom.

Both Mario and Luigi can attack enemies by jumping on them or hitting them with their hammers, but defending themselves during an enemy’s attack requires carefully timing button presses.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Mario and his brother Luigi have been starring in classic video games that paved the way for the platform genre. These titles were among the first to make Nintendo a household name. Now, these famous brothers are starring in new adventures that blend action with comedy and a variety of different gameplay styles. Help them collect coins and defeat enemies in this exciting game for two players.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is a wacky role-playing game that takes the humor implicit in most Mario games and puts it front and center. In addition to the standard Mario RPG gameplay, this game introduced the ability for players to control both characters simultaneously. During overworld sections, the directional pad controls one brother’s movement while the B button controls the other. The brothers can also perform different techniques, such as jumping or throwing their hammer, which can be combined to deal increased damage during battle.

Defeating enemies also earns the Bros experience points, allowing them to level up and improve their stats. Occasionally, the player can also unlock Bros Attacks, which require the brother to cooperate with each other’s actions in order to perform powerful combination attacks.

The game begins with Princess Peach arriving at her castle to find out that the Beanbean ambassadors Fawful and Cackletta have stolen her voice. Toad tries to explain the situation but ends up screaming in embarrassment.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story

Mario and Luigi have made appearances in hundreds of games over the years, and are Nintendo’s mascots. Their unique traits make them stand out as a dynamic duo, and their adventures are always entertaining. While they have a lot of differences from each other, Mario and Luigi both share the same goal of helping their friends protect the Mushroom Kingdom. Although Luigi is more anxious than his brother, he is always ready to fight for others’ safety and is able to overcome his fear when the situation calls for it.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is the third game in the Mario & Luigi series and was first released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. It was re-released for the Wii U Virtual Console in 2014, and also made its way onto the Nintendo 3DS as Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s – Superstar Saga + Bowser Jr.’s Journey in 2019.

The gameplay in this game is similar to the previous entries in the franchise. The brothers move around the overworld, which is played in an overhead view, and can visit worlds inside of Bowser’s body through warp pipes as needed. The brothers can also battle enemies and complete challenges to earn experience and coins.

Like other Mario games, the characters have HP (heart points) and SP (strength). Each character can be boosted in certain areas by using badges; each one has its own effect, which can be used once per battle. When a character’s HP reaches zero, they pass out. They can then be revived with a Mushroom, Nut or Drumstick.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Mario and Luigi once again go on a journey with Peach and Toadsworth. They follow their rocket platform, which flies them to the right place, and soon they find themselves near an odd stone rock. As they attempt to reach it, four Poltergeists appear and do battle with the duo. After a while, they are cleared and they continue.

The game takes on a different feel from its previous entries, with Luigi being much more important in combat and walking around the world. He even gets his own unique attacks like jumping on enemies or slamming them with his hammer. He and Mario can also use Bros Attacks, requiring them to work together and powering up their jump or hammer attacks.

While some of the game feels familiar, it still manages to have a lot of new ideas and surprises. Players will be able to meet a wide variety of new characters as well as old ones like Cackletta, Yoob, and Fawful. They’ll solve a wide variety of puzzles and battle a large amount of enemies, including bosses.

This installment takes the pair through their dreams and a wacky, fantasy-like world called Dream World. The gameplay is mostly a top-down adventure with some side-scrolling and a bit of turn-based battles. The Dream World sections are the main draw for this game and feature a unique battle system that makes it fun to explore.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Mario and Luigi return as time-traveling heroes in this 2005 game for the DS. It is the sequel to Superstar Saga, but it is not a direct remake of that title as it takes place in an unrelated, time-traveling plot. The gameplay is similar, with the action on the DS touch screen and a map of the immediate area on the top.

This game introduced the ability to use amiibo functionality, linking them to figurines of Goomba, Boo, and Koopa Troopa enemies. It also introduced a new gameplay element called “Passion Power,” which lets players perform special attacks by pressing certain buttons at the right moment during combat.

Baby Mario and Luigi show what it would be like if the older brothers were trapped in their infant forms, and they can assist with battle actions as well as help them explore environments. They also provide comic relief with their clumsy antics, such as hammering cups away from angry Wigglers.

The games in this series take place largely somewhere other than the Mushroom Kingdom of the present, such as the Beanbean Kingdom in Superstar Saga, the past in Partners in Time and Bowser’s Inside Story, and Pi’illo Island and Luigi’s dreams in Dream Team. Other recurring elements include the Starshade Brothers, two military-minded Toad equivalents, and Luigi, who sometimes gets dragged into adventures against his will.
